Janet Kravenko founded the Kravenko School of Dance (now KDA) in 1980. She is a lifetime member and certified ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and member of the International Dance Masters Association. She is also a certified ballet and tap teacher through the Imperial Society of Teachers and Dance (ISTD).
Kravenko Dance Academy is currently the Las Vegas home studio for the Royal Academy of Dance instructor and adjudicator forums. Janet is a second generation teacher from Birmingham England. Her early training includes examined graded work through the RAD Ballet and Modern syllabi as well as Imperial Standard for Medal Tap. At the age of 17 she auditioned for Madame Bluebell and began her professional dance career. The international known Le Bluebell Girls toured Europe, India and North Africa before coming to America to open the second edition of the Lido De Paris show at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. Later she joined the casts of Folies Bergère, Viva Le Girls and Casino De Paris. Mrs. K made Las Vegas her permanent home in 1961 and began teaching dance in 1962 at the Bob Gilbert's School of Dance. She continued to support theater, music and dance by donating her choreography, costume making and directing skills for local theater productions, non-profit organizations and the Clark County School District. In the 1970's Janet created and taught the first children's dance and adult exercise program for the Official City of Las Vegas at the Phil Mirabelli Community Center. Academy director Mrs. Kravenko is an early development dance training specialist and currently teaches all Pre-Dance, Tap, Ballet levels Pre-Primary, Primary, Grades I-VIII and examined levels Intermediate-Advanced Foundations.
